Reborn near an ex industrial site in the south Italy, Monokol was inspired by the geometric and squared lines of the dismissed sheds. The place that was used for the industrial production it’s now qualified as an industrial architecture heritage, and after some years in Milan, the Founders of the Company decided to establish headquarters in this ancestral area.

From then the idea to use an idiom that could recall the image of this ancient object, and only after several researches, the Co-founder decided to call the brand, “Monokol”. A Scandinavian word that means monocle.
